The marquee served as a refuge for years to that woman on the dock who always waited smiling for the return of the fisherman. Loaded with old women, limpets, mussels, tuna and other riches that throws the sea, the man came smiling to the place of his beloved and, after kissing his lips, grateful to life, gave the neighbors of the area with some of his best catch.
But one day, the fisherman did not arrive. The beautiful woman waited all night, and the following nights to see the small boat arrive at port. And more days and nights went by … but the sailor never came back.
Legend has it that when the tears ran out, the woman dried up and became a statue. Since then, the sea becomes a mirror to reflect his figure and take it to the place where the fisherman rests.
Even today the locals, distressed, deposit flowers next to the statue. And the sailor, grateful, sends the best fish that he chooses carefully in the sea for those who accompany his beloved, in The Marquee, and they know this beautiful story of love.
